What would be the best hair cut for thick curly medium length hair?

I have hair like this is and I keep it cut just below or at my shoulders. If you live any where that it gets remotely hot and/or humid, having long, curly hair just makes it worse. If you cut your hair so it around this length it is heavy enough that it doesn't just puff up around your head, but it does not weigh down the curls so that they are less defined.

Curly hair, when cut into layers, has a tendency to create a pyramid effect. (Little curls puff up from the shorter layers and can look like a 'fro.) I have my stylist put one small layer on the bottom to thin my hair and keep it from making a big pile of curls at the ends.

Of course, no hair cut is going to look good on curly hair if you don't make sure to put styling products such as mousse, gel, or hairspray in it. The strength of hold that the product has can help change the way the curl looks, but that is something you can decide for yourself. Keeping your hair well conditioned, curly hair tends to be a little drier, will help fight frizz.

layered is really in right now. it willmake your hair lighter and make the curls stand out. cut your hair just a bit past your shoulders and get four layers

I think you should go with the completely bald look. You heard me-shave your head! That will get you noticed, huh?

i say keep the length but add whats called a uniform layer. its layers all roud that arent too short but give your hair some shape whilst taking a little of the weight out but not too much to make the curls spring up.

with this style you can leave it straight, curl it with tongs or straighteners, curl it naturally, or even have some lush flicks.

its the most versatile style ever and you can still sweep it up. plus you also get some slight layers around the face which would look even nicer with a side fringe/bangs. good luck!

mines about an inch past my shoulders. it was right at my shoulders but my hair grows fast. i would suggest it at your shoulders or a little past, layered. and i part my hair on my right side and i dont really have bangs, but i told the lady to go like downwards diagnally for the bands on both sides ( hope you understood that because its kinda hard to explain ) so it showed my face and everything. its really cute. you cant really tell about the bangs because i have on a head band. but yeah. i usually straighten my hair, but sometimes i scrunch it with gel. it looks good to me either way.

Layers would be way cute they show your curls more and make it more curly. also maybe a side swept bang would be cute. they are really in right now and not to old or young.

You didn't mention your face shape %26amp; that's an important factor. Here's an article about choosing hair cuts for each face shape: http://beauty.about.com/od/hairbasics/a/...
