I want to see how i will look with the highlights, and If I look bad then I want the dye to wash out after about 18 washes...but if i look good i will get permenent ones!

Have someone pull your hair through a frosting cap and apply a semi permanant color. They should have on the box whether they wash out in so many washes.

Highlights are the process of removing hair color, it is not actually a color.

An artificial blonde hair color basically breaks down and removes a percentage of the natural pigment in the hair shaft and then applies an artificial pigment to counteract the results.

I would suggest you have your stylist give you a light partial weave. If you like it you can have more put in if not then its really easy to tint it back to your original color.

Please do not try this with a home kit as you'll probably end up with brassy nasty looking streaks.

If you hair is brown they only way to achieve blonde highlights is to "strip" the color first. Hair color deposits, the kind that washes out and does not have any lifting properties, ie., blonde highlights.
