red dyes tend to fade fast, so i would wash it w/a clarifying shampoo for a few days, then proceed to dye it back to brown

As with any hair dying disasters. It's a probably a good idea to go to a specialist e.g. your hairdresser. They could probably fix it, or if you don't want to shell out for a professional hair dying session, your hairdresser should be able to recommend the right product for you without turning your hair weird.

Honestly I would go to the salan and they will probably eliminate it... I only suggest that because it will save you in the long run.. I did something similar ... dyed my hair looked horrible... tried redying it and it came out greenish....

This depend on your level of patience. If you panic and start reapplying every color you can, nothing will work and you will strip your hair. Green also comes to mind. Just live with it through a few weeks of washing and then you can apply the color you want. The washings are the key. And patience.

OK depends on what home hair color you did, I would set up a corrective color consultation with a salon who has a master colorist on hand the consultation is free and you and the colorist can determine what the best plan of action would be for your hairs current condition . Color will not remove another color, so "dyeing" it again will do no good. Good news is, the burgundy contains red color pigments which fade at a faster rate.

There is a product you can get from walmart or cvs what have you that will take out any dye. My sister used it on her hair and it went to a neutral brown color then she made it the color she wanted. I can't think of what it is called right now though.
