How to Dye Your Hair Using Kool Aid

Dye your hair with koolaid! It's sucessful, affordable, and totally fun to do with a friend.

Steps

1. Mix two packs of unsweetened Kool-Aid with about two quarter sizes of of conditioner, in order to make a pasty mix.

2. Dampen your hair.

3. Apply mixture to your head.

4. If you're doing tips or highlights, use a highlighting wand and wrap the dyed sections in tinfoil.

5. Leave it in for 12 hours if you have dark hair, or 6 hours if you have blonde hair.

6. Rinse out when you are done, and voila!

Tips

* To avoid getting the dye on your pillow, wrap your head in plastic wrap, then cover your head with an old ragged towel.

* If you don't like the results, the quickest way to get it out is with toothpaste or super hot water.

* Be patient! Some people think that this could damage your hair, but you are letting conditioner sit in your hair for 8 hours (average). Also make sure you use 2 packs of Kool-Aid, or it will not work.

Warnings

* Make sure you use unsweetened Kool-Aid. Anything else and your hair will be a mess.

* This may possibly damage your hair.

in order to get a vibrant colour you have to bleach it to very light blonde first. other wise it just goes an ugly shade of brown, trust me i have had that ugly shade of brown before

I've never heard of jello,but I know it can be done w/ Kool-Aid,but I don't remember exactly how.If you have a Hot Topic store local,you should go there,they have temporary dye there in all kinds of funky colors,and it last quite a while 3 weeks to a month!!

You can use sugar-less cool aid,but for better results,if you only want temporary color I would use Manic Panic.You can buy it at any Sally beauty supply.It will last in your hair for about a month.I comes in a jar so a jar is about 3 applications.

For a permanent sort of drastic dye, get it bleached first at a salon. :) Then you can dye it pink or purple, and the color will show really well!

At Walmart they have drastic hair color with the other hair dye. Check it out before you put jello or kolaid in your hair, that just makes a mess and looks bad. Plus if you have long hair, you don't want to brush out that mess!

if you want it to be semi-permanent, you need to bleach your hair for those colors. manic panic and punky color make the best colors, and punky color is particularly long lasting. don't expose your hair to chlorine, you'll have to re-dye it.

first bleach it really blonde/white. if you arent looking to die it permanetly, then you can use kool-aid mix or tye-dye (tyedye works very well, but kills the hair magorly)
