I like your hair the way it is, personally, but you seem to have a pretty face, and I think a medium emo cut would look great on you!

Keep in mind, though, that you always have other options such as dyeing it, highlights, or a different cut style ie more layers, etc. It's always good to keep your options open.

I asked my mom a couple weeks ago and she thought it sounded fine but only if it washed out in a week or two. I was fine with that. Today we were going to go get it. just tell them that you will keep your grades up, and show it to them too. and it is in the fashion to get colored streaks at the inside of your hair and pull them out, and only like 1 or 2 big chunks.

Well I thin it really depends on your lifestyle. If you're an active person on the go and can't really spend the time on your hair, then ask your stylist for a cut that requires very little maintainence. But if you're able to do spend more time on your hair, talk to your stylist and she can set you up with a more intricate dew. Good luck!

I just cut off 9 inches of my hair. It was originally about 15 inches long, so it is just above my shoulders. It's horrible. It is frizzy (it was to begin with). I straightened it, and the frizz goes away, but it's still big. I need some ideas on how to style it. Pictures would be awesome. I want something really easy, so that I don't have to take forever doing it. Thanks!

ok so i just go my hair cut and it's layered. the longest layers are barely to my shoulders and my shortest layers are about to my chin. i'm going to camp this summer and we can't really wash our hair until thursday morning (we get on the bus to go there on monday afternoon). and my hair gets oily really easily so it tends to smell after about 35 hours. it doesn't smell as bad though when it is up. what hairstyles can i do with my type of hair while we're there? oh and what hair products (shampoo/cond./etc.) can help keep my hair clean for a longer time and smell better?

I decided to go to a dark natural brown. I had some regrowth showing when I decided to color but I thought that it would all come out the same color. What ended up happening was my regrowth turned red and it did not effect the black. What can I do to fix this?

The bad news is you have to remove some color....the good news is you don't have to remove as much color as you would if you were picking a lighter color. Now, there is a reason your regrowth turned red and not the Dark Natural Brown you say you put on your hair....are you sure it was dark natural brown? Did you look on the box for an expiration date?

Rule of thumb is color does not remove color so if you are black a dark brown will only make the black darker not lighter but it should have made your root a dark brown!

Ok So .....you need to find a Sally Beauty Supply Store and ask to be shown the color removers they offer the public. Read it well to see if you need anything from there to mix it with...(20 vol. develpoer? Water?) Read It. You will not want to leave this remover on as long as someone who wants to go lighter.

While you are there get the 20 vol. developer and pick out a Beautiful Brown you would like to see your hair as....Beautiful Browns are Clairol and all Clairol colors are = parts developer to color...... hence 2 oz. color 2 oz. developer.....grab a color bottle while you are there too! Go home and have fun.

The best thing to do would be to grow it out or wait a long time and then have it dyed in a professional salon which is what I did, I had a similar situation like yours and since I was pregnant I abstained from dying my hair for 9 months went back afterwards got it done and they were able to lighten it. So you may have to wait a while because I wouldnt recommend bleaching it at all.

Mascara: I use Maybelline Lash Stylist. The brush is amazing!!

Eye liner: If you have light eyes then go with a black/brown.

I have really curly medium length hair, too. When I get out of the shower and it's detangled, I put in a leave in conditioner (I like Bumble and Bumble tonic) and then work a little bit of silicone in (Laminates Drops), and then towel dry it. Then I style it with Garnier Fructis Soft Curl Pomade and let it air dry. As for makeup - I'm in love with MAC makeup and I know that a great eyeshadow that looks good on just about everyone is MAC Amber Lights so if you put some of that eyeshadow on with a little bit of liner and some mascara, you're golden. You probably don't need foundation or anything, so maybe some bronzer or high lighter and some lipgloss? Good luck!

Yes, but just like a regular perm you have to go in for touch-ups on the roots. Do your research, some salons are way better than others.

Maybe instead of that extreme why not try a CHI straightener for around $100. They work great! I promise! I have one.

yes but your hair might be damaged in the long term and when your hair grew out the roots would be curly still but it has worked well for many people. Talk it over with your hairdresser, they usually know best!

I wouldn't bother. I have curly hair also and it would just make sense to me that putting chemicals on frizzy hair would make it way worse. I use a flat iron- hot tools brand- which works wonders. it takes maybe 10-15 minutes to get my hair straight after washing it, but it works so well. you can get one for about $40 at trade secret or ulta beauty stores. remember curly is beautiful and unique but i know it is fun to change it up!

I have the same problem. After years of getting (straightener perms) my hair became very damaged. Now I use a flat iron my hairdresser ordered for me. You need to take each strand your getting ready to iron and spray first with Matrix Vavoom Gold Heat, iron in volume. IT'S THE BEST!!! Gives my hair a wonderful shine. The transformation is AMAZING!!! Make sure you get a good flat iron they can be pricey but worth it. The cheaper ones like at Sally's or any department store won't do.

I also use a very good conditioning balm that I usually leave in overnight or for a few hours by BIOLAGE "Nourishes and repairs dry. stressed hair" I use it about every 4 days. I also give my hair a break every week or two. I just wash it, air dry and put in a ponytail if I'm just hanging around the house. Also, if you don't have oily hair? once you flat iron you don't need to wash it but every 2 day's. That's another way to give your hair some relief from the heat. ( It keeps it's straight form even sleeping on it) GOOD LUCK!!!!

I agree. I definately wouldn't get your hair chemically straightened. You hair will be dead after the process. As for straighteners, I think Chi is the best and well worth what you pay. When I don't want to straighten my hair, I will use the blow dryer and a round brush with a metal core that heats up. I start at the bottom and blow dry it in three sections. After doing this a few weeks, I was able to train my hair to style this way, but I could go back to curly anytime. Hope this helps!

red dyes tend to fade fast, so i would wash it w/a clarifying shampoo for a few days, then proceed to dye it back to brown

As with any hair dying disasters. It's a probably a good idea to go to a specialist e.g. your hairdresser. They could probably fix it, or if you don't want to shell out for a professional hair dying session, your hairdresser should be able to recommend the right product for you without turning your hair weird.

Honestly I would go to the salan and they will probably eliminate it... I only suggest that because it will save you in the long run.. I did something similar ... dyed my hair looked horrible... tried redying it and it came out greenish....

This depend on your level of patience. If you panic and start reapplying every color you can, nothing will work and you will strip your hair. Green also comes to mind. Just live with it through a few weeks of washing and then you can apply the color you want. The washings are the key. And patience.

OK depends on what home hair color you did, I would set up a corrective color consultation with a salon who has a master colorist on hand the consultation is free and you and the colorist can determine what the best plan of action would be for your hairs current condition . I would strongly recommend not doing any more color to your hair until then.

Color will not remove another color, so "dyeing" it again will do no good. Good news is, the burgundy contains red color pigments which fade at a faster rate.

If you truly hate the color, seek the advice of a licensed salon professional. You can do more damage trying to fix this on your own and cost yourself mega bucks to have a pro fix your mistakes later.

You can try a product from Sally Beauty Supply, Salon Care Gentle Color Remover (abt $12). This is a two bottle product that contains no peroxide or bleach. It is designed to remover the artificail oxidized (permanent, demi permanent) color and not alter your natural color. If the color you applied used a developer (peroxide), this product will remove that and leave your hair damage free and without the burgundy. It may take multiple applications as it removes the artificial pigments slowly and you may need a few kits if you have longer hair.

In the end, seeking the advice of a licensed salon pro is the best cure. They are licensed, educated and all they do is hair. Often, a stylist will give you a complimentary consultation so you can anticipate what you're in for as far as time and money.

There is a product you can get from walmart or cvs what have you that will take out any dye. My sister used it on her hair and it went to a neutral brown color then she made it the color she wanted. I can't think of what it is called right now though.

I find guys who color their hair a bit queer or metro, even if theyre not it just seems that way to me. But I've had friends who FLIP over guys with highlighted hair, so I guess it varies. Also, blonde hair with lighter blonde highlightes can look quite good. If you think you'd like the look, go for it. I think highlights look great and are very flattering.

My husband (after years of resisting) finally put some blonde streaks through his average-brown hair. It makes him look younger and sexier, and every woman who has seen him has commented on it and said how great he looks (some with far more flattering interest than I really like; I mean one of his friends looked quite turned on).

The idea that it is gay-looking or metrosexual is completely ridiculous - my husband is about the most un-gay, most blokey, unreconstructed man I know who isn't an actual caveman.

I have a razor hair cut and I use Redken Rewind. It's a great product. I just blow dry with a roller brush and the Rewind and it turns out great.

Frizzy hair is a curse. I've tried everything on the market and nothing works. If it is the least bit humid or windy it's a frizz ball. I sympathize with you.
